Summer Time

It’s that time of year again, although it seems that this time of year stays with us all year out here in SoCal.  With summer time comes heat, and lots of it.  The box gets hotter and sometimes it seems as if there is no escaping to cool down.  Our bodies, however, have a natural ability to both cool and warm itself.  This process can only take place if we are properly HYDRATED.  Do you know how important hydration is?  Practically 75% of the American population is chronically dehydrated… That’s a pretty staggering number, meaning statistically 3 out of every 4 members of the box are dehydrated every day!  Lets talk about some of the benefits of proper hydration to make this all make some more sense.  Being even mildly dehydrated can start to slow down your metabolism on a daily basis (so much for those weight loss goals).  Another interesting fact is that around 40% of Americans mechanism for thirst is so weak it is often confused with hunger.  So next time you feel like chowing down on that snickers bar at work trade it for a glass of water and do your body some good!
