After a long walk on the beach and some gym remodeling we’ve finally made it back to the blog! We can hardly contain our excitement and we hope you continue to find these posts useful, whether in your training or everyday life, as many of these topics can apply to both.
We’ll start with a definition of our subject matter:
Beginning – (be·gin·ning)
1. the point in time or space at which something starts.
Rome was not built in a day, you did not cultivate your career overnight, and your relationship with your best friend or loved one wasn’t carved out of a single day together. These great things take time to build, much like your journey into fitness. Whether you are just starting CrossFit, or just starting to take your CrossFit to a new level with competition, each of these has a new beginning.
One of my favorite things to point out to people when they first walk into the box is that we all have a different starting point, we all have different goals, and we will all have our own path forged through adversity to achieve the success we so strongly desire. That starting point, or the beginning, pales in comparison in terms of importance to the attitude you bring in with you to succeed. The mental mindset of telling yourself over and over, a 1000x over again in your head that you can and you will achieve what you set out to accomplish will define your success. The beginning is simply the part where you step through the door and accept the challenge to become a better version of yourself.
Over time you will encounter new movements, new challenges, and things where you flat out look at the whiteboard or wodify and say “WTF?!?!”. It’s all a part of the process and you should welcome these new challenges as if they were new avenues for you to find your way to success. We aren’t going to be perfect every time, and our beginning was far from perfection, but iron sharpens iron over time and we will become the version of ourselves that we have so strongly sought after, all because we weren’t afraid of a new beginning.
Have no fear, embrace every challenge, start everyday as a new beginning and welcome the change that comes your way!
