CFR Welcomes Coach Izzy:
Isagani Atangan, also known as “Izzy,” started CrossFit during his deployment overseas in Fall 2012. He’s been athletic throughout his life, playing football from pop warner to high school and played rugby as well. In 2008, he joined the United States Navy as a Fleet Marine Force Hospital Corpsman; he has been stationed at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton and with United States Marine Corps units. After coming back from his deployment, he immediately researched and pursued to find a CrossFit community to increase his overall techniques and movements, and to gain a better perspective of the CrossFit methodology.
Joining his first gym after coming back home from deployment, he quickly became engulfed in the CrossFit community. Shortly thereafter he became a CrossFit Level One Trainer who now has exemplary knowledge of the fundamentals, functional movements, and proper techniques used in CrossFit. Izzy has competed in numerous competitions overseas and stateside, he has also judged at various events such as 2014 OCT, National Professional Fitness League, and NLI.
Since CrossFit has personally changed his overall fitness and lifestyle, he wants to give back time to motivate, challenge, and inspire those who make sacrifices to better themselves as athletes and individuals. With the knowledge and experiences he’s gained through his CrossFit journey, he has become a great mentor and trainer to help you get on track and reach your goals as you move forward to a healthier life.
